Texas Physicians Endorse Rep. Frank Corte for Reelection to Texas House District 122

AUSTIN - TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Rep. Frank Corte for reelection to Texas House District 122. TMA is Texas' largest physician organization.
"Representative Corte is a powerful champion in the Texas Legislature for patients and their physicians," said Manuel Acosta, MD, chair of the TMA Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) Board of Directors.
"He helped us stop the epidemic of lawsuit abuse that was sweeping our state, and now his constituents - our patients - are reaping the benefits," added Dr. Acosta. "The reforms have served to help sick and injured Texans have more physicians who are more willing and able to give them the medical care they need."
Representative Corte also shares TMA's desire for a health care system that permits more time for patient care and gets physicians out from under the crush of government and big insurance interference, and paperwork. "We look forward to working with him again to improve the health care of all Texans," stated Dr. Acosta.
TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 43,000 Texas physicians and medical students, and nearly 8,000 alliance members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
