AUSTIN - TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Rep. Joe Crabb for reelection to Texas House District 127. TMA is Texas' largest physician organization.

"Representative Crabb is an advocate in the Texas Legislature for patients and their physicians," said Manuel Acosta, MD, chair of the TMA Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) Board of Directors. "He works hard to ensure Texas' hard-earned tax dollars are spent appropriately and wisely."

Representative Crabb also is a strong advocate of the historic medical liability reforms enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2003. Those reforms have served to help sick and injured Texans have greater access to more physicians for their needed medical care.

He also shares TMA's desire for a health care system that permits more time for patient care and gets physicians out from under the crush of government and big insurance interference, and paperwork. "We look forward to working with Representative Crabb again," stated Dr. Acosta.

TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 43,000 Texas physicians and medical students, and nearly 8,000 alliance members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
