Texas Physicians Endorse Sen. Tommy Williams for Reelection to Texas Senate District 4

AUSTIN - TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Sen. Tommy Williams for reelection to Texas Senate District 4. TMA is Texas' largest physician organization.
"Senator Williams is a powerful champion in the Texas Legislature for patients and their physicians," said Manuel Acosta, MD, chair of the TMA Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) Board of Directors. "He is an advocate of the historic medical liability reforms enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2003. The reforms have served to help sick and injured Texans have more physicians who are more willing and able to give them the medical care they need.
"He actively listens to his constituents and works hard on their behalf to improve Texas' health care system. We look forward to working with Senator Williams again," added Dr. Acosta.
TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 43,000 Texas physicians and medical students, and nearly 8,000 alliance members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
