TEXPAC Endorses Sen. Donna Campbell, MD, for Reelection

February 2, 2018

TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Sen. Donna Campbell, MD (R-New Braunfels), for reelection to the Texas Senate.

“TEXPAC is pleased to endorse Senator Campbell for reelection to Texas Senate District 25 because she supports adequate graduate medical education (GME) funding so Texas can train and retain good young physicians to establish practices here,” said TEXPAC Chair Robert Rogers, MD. “She understands that adequate GME funding helps shore up our physician workforce to care for Texas patients.”

“Physicians appreciate Senator Campbell’s responsiveness and accessibility to doctors’ visits whether in the district or in Austin,” Dr. Rogers said.

“Dr. Campbell also understands what it takes to become a physician and the myriad challenges physicians face in the current health care environment.

“For these reasons and more, TEXPAC is very pleased to back her to continue her important service on behalf of our patients,” he said.

TEXPAC speaks on behalf of more than 51,000 Texas physicians and medical students, and approximately 4,000 TMA Alliance volunteer members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.
