TEXPAC's Vision, Mission, and Values

Mission Statement:

TEXPAC is a voluntary, non-partisan branch of the Texas Medical Association, which works to advance the TMA’s mission of improving the health of all Texans while enabling its members to protect their patients through political education and activism.

Value Proposition

TEXPAC membership is a physician investment that gives medicine a voice at the crowded table of politics in an effort to hold elected officials accountable. TEXPAC gives physicians leadership opportunities to become proactively involved in and knowledgeable of major political issues involving healthcare.

Motto

United in protecting our patients.

TEXPAC was created in 1962 when TMA realized physicians needed to be politically proactive to protect their patients and practices. Fortunately for medicine, TEXPAC works hard long before each 140-day state legislative session begins by electing the right candidates, and educating candidates and elected officials about Texas medicine so they can make informed decisions.

In the government relations arena, TMA focuses on policy. TMA itself cannot legally contribute to campaigns unless through a political action committee, i.e., TEXPAC.
