TEXPAC Endorses Rep. Charlie Geren for the Texas House

AUSTIN – TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Rep. Charlie Geren (R- Fort Worth) for reelection to Texas House of Representatives District 99.

“TEXPAC is pleased to endorse Representative Geren for reelection to Texas House District 99 so he can continue his work protecting Texas patients and their physicians,” said TEXPAC Chair Robert Rogers, MD.

“Representative Geren has worked within the legislative process to stop bills that would negatively impact the practice of medicine in Texas,” said Dr. Rogers.

“Representative Geren consistently supports legislation that will improve our physicians’ ability to practice medicine, and to appropriately care for patients without bureaucratic interference,” Dr. Rogers said. “He also understands that insurance companies should not be denying medically appropriate care, and that they should pay physicians for the services they provide to patients.”

Dr. Rogers added, “Representative Geren always makes time to visit with physicians in the district and in Austin, and is interested in understanding the challenges physicians face and its impact on our ability to practice medicine and care for patients. For these reasons and more, TEXPAC is pleased to back Representative Geren for reelection.”
