TEXPAC Endorses Rep. Ken King for Texas House

February 16, 2018

AUSTIN — TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Rep. Ken King (R-Canadian), for reelection to Texas House of Representatives District 88.

“TEXPAC is pleased to endorse Representative King for reelection to Texas House District 88 because he has fought for better access to health care in rural areas,” said TEXPAC Chair Robert Rogers, MD.

Dr. Rogers also noted Representative King’s strong support for new legislation to establish telemedicine as an accepted medical standard of care for patients, which can help improve access to care in Texas’ vast rural areas.

“Representative King has been a champion for population health issues and consistently supports legislation that will improve our physicians’ ability to practice medicine, and to appropriately care for patients without bureaucratic interference,” Dr. Rogers said. “For these reasons and more, TEXPAC is pleased to back him to continue his important service on behalf of our patients.”
