TEXPAC Endorses Rep. Linda Koop for Texas House

February 17, 2018

AUSTIN — TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), has endorsed Rep. Linda Koop (R-Dallas), for reelection to Texas House of Representatives District 102.

“TEXPAC is proud to support Representative Koop for the Texas House, because she has been a champion of graduate medical education (GME) funding, allowing good young physicians to train here and, hopefully, establish their practices here in Texas,” said TEXPAC Chair Robert Rogers, MD. “She understands that supporting GME funding presents the best path to growing our physician workforce to care for Texas patients.

“Throughout her years of legislative service she has been supportive of the right for physicians to be paid for the medical services they provide in caring for patients,” Dr. Rogers said. “She also clearly understands the need to keep government overreach and bureaucracy out of doctors’ practices. For these reasons and more, TEXPAC is pleased to back Representative Koop to continue her important service for our patients.”
